Governance - TecSOS Steering Group

Overall responsibility for the TecSOS Service sits with the Vodafone Foundation board of Trustees. A Steering Group has been convened to provide operational advice and support. It comprises, in addition to representatives form various police forces, stakeholders who are able to support this service.

Steering Group representatives are:

Elizabeth Filkin – Vodafone Foundation Trustee and Chair for the TecSOS Steering Group.

Elizabeth has held a number of high profile Civil Service roles, including Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards between 1992 and 2002.

Patsy Townsend – Director and Head of Programmes, Thames Valley Partnership.

Specialised in working with young offenders for the Probation Service, followed by multi-agency partnership initiatives as development manager.

John Liversidge – TecSOS Senior Manager, Thames Valley Partnership.

Retired Chief Superintendent. Heads the TecSOS management team.

Steve Holbrook – Product Manager, Vodafone Product Management UK.

Responsible for all commercial interaction between Vodafone and its Suppliers relating to the TecSOS service.

Simon Laurence – Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent, Metropolitan Police.

Andrew Dunnett – Director Vodafone Foundation.

Director since 2006, Andrew has headed the Mobile for Good programme to increasingly link Vodafone’s charitable giving with its technology.

Elaine Preece – Secretary to the Steering Group.

Assistant Director / Financial Director, Thames Valley Partnership.

John Shardlow – TecSOS Service Manager, Thames Valley Partnership.

Responsible for all Operational activities of the TecSOS service.

Detective Superintendent Natalie Shaw – Head of Public Protection, South Yorkshire Police.

Linda Smith – British Telecom, Emergency Services.

Ian Johnston – Police & Crime Commissioner, Gwent Police.

Suzanne Jacob – Deputy CEO, SafeLives.

The underlying technology is crucial in delivering TecSOS but never overrides the needs of the victims or the police.
